Diagnostic Care

When your pet isn't feeling themselves, you want them to feel better as soon as possible, and so do we!

Doctor Taking Dog's Temperature

Pets can't let us know what hurts. We are here to give them a voice. Our furry, feathered and scaled companions tend to be excellent at hiding pain, which can be especially dangerous as conditions progress to more severe stages. Our facility is equipped with industry leading diagnostic tools and technology, allowing us to examine your pet internally and externally. Gaining a total picture of your pet's health is essential. Keep in mind, the sooner we diagnose and treat you pet, the greater likelihood of treatment success. At Truesdell Animal Care Hospital & Clinic, we offer a wide-range of diagnostic services to address common and more advanced conditions.

Please, if you are suspicious that your pet is ill or injured, do not hesitate to call us at 608-244-2555. It is much better to address health conditions during early stages for both you and your pet! Earlier treatment is less painful and timely for your pet, and less costly for you.

Pain Management

Your pet can't tell us what hurts, so it's up to us to make sure they are pain-free.

It's our job to make sure your pet is free of pain and discomfort. No matter if your pet visits us for an illness or surgical procedure, their pain is actively managed at all times. Between our trained and compassionate staff and our technologically adept facility, we keep our patient's as comfortable as possible.

Signs of pain are so subtle that they are often overlooked. As veterinary professionals, we are trained to recognize these subtleties and we want to fill you in! Client education is a key component of preventive at-home care. The sooner you can recognize an issue, the sooner you can seek treatment for your loved one.

Advanced Imaging

When a wellness exam and lab work aren't giving us the in-depth information we need to confidently diagnose your pet, we turn to advanced imaging technology. Tools such as ultrasound and digital radiology give us a much closer look at your pet's insides that an exam and lab work could never provide. With the ability to examine your pet's insides, from their bones to their organs, we can accurately detect disease, illness and injury. Another advantage to advanced imaging is the ability to instantly share results with you and specialists both in-person and electronically.

Ultrasound

Advanced ultrasound technology allows our highly trained veterinary professionals to see what is going on inside! By visually examining internal bodily systems, we are able to pinpoint areas of pain and concern. Abnormalities are assessed by checking tendons, muscles, joints, and internal organs. Not to mention, this amenity is non-invasive with little expense to you!

Digital Radiology

Instant results, high-definition images and easy sharing makes digital x-rays an invaluable diagnostic tool. Capable of capturing an image on your pet's internal bodily systems within seconds, we can share results with you almost immediately. This is also beneficial if a specialist is needed.

Safe and non-invasive, digital x-rays help us to pinpoint bone fractures and breaks, bladder stones, foreign objects, tumors, intestinal blockages, heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, chronic arthritis, spinal cord conditions and much more.

On-Site Laboratory

Lab work is a vital component of preventive care, making sure everything is okay on the inside.

Our in-house lab is equipped to analyze an array of diagnostic work efficiently and accurately. Often times, we are able to share results with you within minutes! We commonly test fecal samples, skin scrapings, urinalysis, various bloodwork, and much more. If your pet needs a less common or non-urgent test, we may utilize an outside lab.

Outside labs simply take longer to produce test results. Without having to wait 1-2 days for your pet's results, we can make a diagnosis faster and create a treatment plan before you leave our facility! This is especially important in critical cases where a pet needs treated immediately.
