Meet Dr. Alex Hafey

DVM
Dr. Alexandra Hafey, our newest Associate Veterinarian, has always wanted to be a DVM. She grew up in Colorado, attended UW-Madison on an athletic scholarship for swimming and diving, and earned a degree in Animal Sciences while developing a love for Wisconsin’s culture and values. After graduating, she worked at a big cat sanctuary in Texas while applying to vet school. Dr. Hafey then worked as a veterinary assistant for Truesdell before starting vet school at Colorado State University.

During vet school, Dr. Hafey was interested in small animal and livestock medicine and worked on a team researching canine reproduction. Her professional interests are feline medicine and senior/end-of-life care.
Dr. Hafey lives with her boyfriend Tyler, her college swimming and diving teammate, and a one-year-old tuxedo cat named Badger. She loves exploring new restaurants, spending time with friends, watching movies, cross-stitching, and cooking. She is happy to begin her career as a veterinarian at the hospital where she worked before attending vet school. “I am excited to be surrounded by individuals who practice such a high quality of medicine and are so encouraging and supportive,” says Dr. Hafey.
