Meet Dr. Marina Regalado
DVMDr. Marina Regalado is an Associate Veterinarian at Truesdell Animal Care Hospital and Clinic. She graduated from the University of Florida, with a Dual Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences and Food Sciences & Human Nutrition in 2011. She then went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 2016 where she pursued a small animal and exotics concentration. Her areas of professional interest include behavioral medicine, soft tissue surgery, and pain management.
Dr. Regalado began working in the veterinary industry in 2007 as a cage cleaner, while performing in-house fecal floats. She was inspired to become a veterinarian after her love of animals (especially cats!) and a passion for science and learning new things. Ever since she was just 5 years old, she knew veterinary medicine was the field for her. Dr. Regalado says the best part of being a veterinarian is helping animals better communicate with their owners. She enjoys determining the cause for a limp or a down disposition, detecting abnormalities in a timely fashion, and working with owners to improve the lives of their pets.
Growing up in Altamonte Springs, a suburb of Orlando, she currently resides in Madison, WI with her wife Caroline, and two children, Calvin and Spencer. They also share a home with two cats, Alabama and Bagheera, along with a ball python snake, Pythagoras. When she is not practicing veterinary care, she loves to read, cross stitch, and play video games. A fun fact aboutDr. Regalado is that she has a knack for memorizing movie dialogue and can recite most of the classic Disney movies line for line!
